Have you seen the movie Cabrini yet? While the university closes for good next month, its namesake lives on, thanks to a team of local investors who raised a staggering $50 million to get the film made. I live less than three miles from the school, and before seeing the movie I knew nothing about the woman after whom the university is named.
Born in 1850 in northern Italy, Maria Francesca Cabrini was a frail, sickly child who battled health problems all her life.

The 51st Annual Yellow Springs Art Show opens to the public on Saturday, April 27 at 10 am.
The galleries in the Lincoln building will be open daily from 10 am - 4 pm through Sunday, May 12. With 200+ artists, this juried show has some of the most impressive works of art exhibited in the area. Over 4,000 works of original art are showcased including 2-D and 3-D works with a wide range of media and pricing.
Admission is free to the public, and reservations are not required. Artwork is on display in all the first and second floor galleries, and our well-known “minis” will again be found in their 2nd floor mini’s gallery. Artists’ portfolio pieces of unframed originals and prints will also be on both floors. You can visit the show in person at 1685 Art School Road, Chester Springs, PA.
