Student Body President Nouman Kante
A Message from President Scott Wyatt
I join SUUSA President Nouman Kante in expressing our deepest grief over the death of George Floyd and the multitude of injustices that our friends of color have faced over the course of their lives. Perhaps the greatest resource to combat the evils of hate, prejudice and racism is ourselves -- as we speak out on injustices, seek understanding and show kindness to everyone. At SUU, we pledge to continue teaching and modeling the kind of behavior that leads to a more inclusive and loving world.

TBirdStrong Fund
Since the start of the pandemic, 137 individuals have donated to the TBirdStrong Fund and provided support to dozens of students. However, there is still tremendous need. Student applications exceed more than 1,500 and meeting those urgent needs will require the collective effort of T-Bird Nation. Please consider a donation to the TBirdStrong Fund as we help our students meet urgent financial needs beyond their control and continue their SUU education. Be TBirdStrong!

Dr. Aton Retires After 40 Years
Dr. Jim Aton, who has been a driving force in the English Department, will retire at the end of the month after 40 years of excellence at SUU. “He has inspired so many students through his teaching, even as he has educated many of us about Utah and the American Southwest through his scholarship, much of which has resulted in books and presentations at the regional and national level,” said Dr. Jean Boreen, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
