COVID Testing before and after Break

As some people may travel this weekend or during the non-class days Monday and Tuesday, Thomas Segar, vice president for Student Affairs, has recommended getting a COVID-19 test before leaving for the break and upon returning to campus. He praised students for their commitment to safety this semester. 
Thursday, April 1
All day, online. Complete a daily activity checklist throughout April, receive a completion certificate, and win IUP prizes.
For master’s and doctoral candidates graduating in May, this is the last day to defend the document and submit the draft and forms.
11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Zoom. Zach Collins and Tony DiMauro will give career advice, discuss COVID’s impact on the arts, and take questions. 
3:00–4:00 p.m., Zoom. Learn how these comments or actions—sometimes not intended to be negative—can affect students. 
5:30–6:30 p.m., Zoom. Author Lauren Markham dispels myths about migrants and discusses causes of contemporary migration to the US from Central America. 
6:00–7:00 p.m., Zoom. Learn about on-campus employment opportunities and how to apply using MyIUP. Register.
7:00–8:30 p.m., Zoom. Test your knowledge about health.
8:00–10:00 p.m., Zoom. Join STATIC and this St. Paul, Minnesota-bred band for a concert free to the IUP community.
Friday, April 2
2:00–5:00 p.m., University Museum. Department faculty share work at the forefront of contemporary art. The exhibit runs throughout April.
8:00–11:00 p.m., Folger Student Center. Play games, shoot pool, watch TV, eat, and hang out with friends.
9:30–11:00 p.m., Zoom. Get your card and the Zoom link by 4:00 p.m. on game day by emailing atod-oasis@iup.edu.
Saturday, April 3
2:00–3:00 p.m., Gorell Recital Hall. A limited audience will be permitted.
Monday, April 5
One of seven non-class days taking the place of the traditional, weeklong spring break this semester.
This busy week of virtual events showcases faculty and student research done throughout the year. 
Register for this Thursday, April 8, online event featuring seven IUP alumnae accomplished in science, technology, engineering, and math fields.

10:00–11:00 a.m., Zoom. An overview of the D2L Grades Tool
2:00–3:00 p.m., Zoom. Learn about Curricular Practical Training (for internships and more) and Optional Practical Training (a work benefit). Register in advance, intl-education@iup.edu.
4:00–5:30 p.m., Zoom. Play games, learn about healthy relationships, and win prizes. Register.
5:00–7:00 p.m., Elkin Great Room, Zoom. Join this conversation about the Olympics, Paralympics, out athletes, and more.
Wednesday, April 7
All day, Zoom. Undergraduate and graduate students present their research and creative projects. Registration information will be forthcoming.
3:30–4:30 p.m., Zoom. An overview of the D2L Grades Tool
4:30–5:30 p.m., Zoom. Learn about this IUP alumna and author of Temper and They Never Learn. 
6:00–7:30 p.m., Zoom. Nicole Bukosky, Office of Alumni and Friends, will discuss the need for mentors. An opportunity to network will follow.
7:00–8:00 p.m., Zoom. Build the careful reading skills needed to proofread papers, including reading slowly, using A Writer’s Reference, and more.
7:00–8:00 p.m., Zoom. Fraternity and sorority chapter leaders hold this monthly meeting.
8:00–10:00 p.m., Zoom. STATIC hosts its virtual version of the hit game show. Register to be a contestant.
