Dear Friend,

We are looking forward to gathering together virtually in about a month! Given the responses in your survey, it seemed best overall to leave the retreat dates as January 25-27 (Monday-Wednesday).

A few of you have expressed concern about how it would feel to meet in this way. We feel your uncertainty and also have experienced good things in our last two virtual retreats. We have found that when we all work together to create the space for God, it can still be a very deep and enriching time.

Encouragement from Ruth

To encourage you in your plans for a virtual retreat, we wanted to share with you a message that Ruth recorded for TC15 just a couple months ago. This recording below includes spiritual guidance from Ruth and a short conversation with her daughter Charity, a member of that community. Together, they speak to both the challenges of creating a retreat environment in these times as well as some ideas to help you best prepare to be with God during these set apart days.

Receive resources for the retreat
and help us prepare

We will be sending everyone the handouts for the retreat in addition to the prayers for our fixed-hour prayer times and more suggestions on planning for your retreat. And there is a refund available for your room and board if you would like to receive it. Many from other communities used the refund to book an Airbnb, hotel or retreat center room. (See details below.)

One option you might want to consider in order to have a private retreat combined with our community retreat is to book a room and meals at the Marytown Retreat Center in Libertyville. Their rooms are comfortable, with spaces in the building and on the grounds where you can be in solitude, plus a chapel in the lodging area to spend time in prayer. To book a room, email Chris at retreats@kolbeshrine.org.

Click here for the retreat schedule. In the next email we will provide a schedule for each of the time zones. We hope this information will get you started on the journey and give you a chance to book any accommodations that will best serve you.

In order to prepare for our time together, we will need every person in the community to complete this form by December 29th.

Refund | Reimburse | Donate

One of the ways we want to support you in your retreat experience is to offer a refund for your room and board.

Refund: For those of you who are personally paying for your TC experience and would like to receive a refund of $200, you may choose whether to be refunded by check or by a reduction of  your next payment(s). We can begin the process of a refund as soon as you submit the form via the link above.

Reimbursement: If you are in the community through a sponsorship, crowd funding or do not pay the full invoice amount for any other reason, we will reimbuse up to $200 in order to pay for a retreat center, Airbnb, or hotel cost. You may email receipts to our office for your lodging costs along with your current address for a check to be mailed to you. Please note, receipts must be submitted for reimbursement.

Donation: If you are interested in turning your refund into a donation to help offset virtual production costs, we would welcome that! But you will need to let us know when you respond so we can note it as a donation for your records.

Click the green button above before December 29th.
As always, we are praying for you and trust you are praying for us, too.

Blessings,
The TC16 Team
