"STEAMulate Your Mind" Summer Camps:  A BREC & Capital Area STEM Collaboration

Are you ready to get your knowledge on in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math?  Campers will do hands-on experiements, explore their 'I wonders' and questions, and gain a greater understanding of the world around them.  STEAMulate camps are located all over the East Baton Rouge Parish at BREC parks.          For more info and park locations click here.

Host your own summer camp with NASA!

Hosting an after-school program, summer camp, STEM night, or workshop in your school or community or even with YOUR your own kids? Check out resources from the Artemis Project. NASA's Artemis I Mission will send an uncrewed Orion spacecraft thousands of miles beyond the Moon – farther than any spacecraft built for humans has ever flown. The mission focuses on using the moon's surface as a proving ground for living on Mars and deep space exploration.
If you looking to share the excitement of Artemis with your STEM learners,  NASA’s Artemis I STEM Learning Pathway will provide weekly newsletters filled with STEM resources and ready-to-use content, like the 4-project hands-on Artemis Summer Camp experiences featured here.

Are you looking to break into Tech, but don't have the Experience?  Think Apprenti!

Apprenti of Louisiana is announcing a great opportunity for IT apprenticeships in software development with CGI
Apprenti Webinar to learn more: May 11, 2022 at 11AM CST for a Program Webinar and Q&A.  Registration is FREE, yet required at Eventbrite - Apprenti.
What are "Apprenticeships?"
Apprentices attend 3-5 months (July) of related technical instruction (RTI), based on the job, before joining CGI for 12-months (October) of on-the-job training (OJT).  During OJT, apprentices are able to grow skills through structured technical and interpersonal training, while also receiving hands-on-learning in sought after disciplines. Once apprentices successfully complete 2,000 program hours, they have the opportunity to continue their careers at CGI at a consultant level, supporting clients worldwide.  There is NO cost to apprentices, no prior experience in tech is needed.
Selection Process:  1) Candidates must apply (www.apprenticareers.org) and complete an assessment. This is FREE, no charge to apply or complete the assessment.  2) Candidates scoring a 80 or greater will be contacted for an interview. 3) Selected candidates will interview with company, and move onward to an apprenticeship offer.
Details:  In-office work, no remote work. Apprentices receive starting wage of $22/HR, with 6-months step increase to $26/HR. On completion, apprentices receive annual performance evaluation and negotiate market wages.
