Bridging Generations: Teens and Elders Connect Through Shared Stories and Experiences
Last week, A.G. Rhodes Cobb hosted a week of learning and connection during the Generation Connect annual service camp, held in partnership with youth nonprofit Pebble Tossers. The camp brought together teens and elders for intergenerational engagement, offering both groups the chance to learn from and with one another.
Throughout the week, teens conducted oral history interviews, participated in hands-on activities, and gained valuable insight into aging and elder care—including a Virtual Dementia Tour that deepened their understanding of memory loss. They also explored career paths in long-term care and enjoyed a special outing thanks to the Georgia Aquarium.
The week wrapped up with a celebration where teens shared reflections and stories they gathered from the elders, highlighting the intergenerational connections made throughout the week.

Honoring our CNAs: The Heart of Compassionate Care
National Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Week is celebrated annually in June, and it's a time to recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of CNAs in health care. The majority of our care partners at A.G. Rhodes are CNAs so we honored them with special CNA Week celebrations in our homes to thank them for their tireless commitment to our elders' comfort and well-being.

Pride in Practice: Fostering Inclusion at A.G. Rhodes
Inclusivity is a part of our everyday culture at A.G. Rhodes. For Janeen Cooper, LPN and Unit Manager at our Cobb community, she says that sense of belonging is one of the many reasons she likes working at A.G. Rhodes.
“Celebrating Pride Month is important for the sake of representation of my community, but in my everyday life here, I’m just Janeen—a Unit Manager, a nurse,” she shared. “I work in a place that sees me and celebrates me while simultaneously respecting my humanity.”
Janeen’s experience demonstrates A.G. Rhodes' commitment to creating a supportive, welcoming environment for everyone. This month and every month, we’re proud to celebrate the people who make this such a special place to work and live.

Remembering Glen Skipwith August 3, 1959—June 6, 2025
One of our beloved team members, Glen Skipwith— lovingly known as "Skip" among his colleagues—recently passed away. Glen, an Army Veteran, worked at A.G. Rhodes Cobb as a Maintenance Assistant for nearly two years, and he will be remembered fondly for his warm and humble spirit, constant smile, giving nature, and the camaraderie he brought to A.G. Rhodes.
"He was a really hard worker and overall great guy," said Angel Rolon, A.G. Rhodes Cobb Maintenance Director and Glen's supervisor. " He was always happy and smiling, had a great attitude, and the elders really liked him. He talked about his family a lot, and was so proud of his children and grandchildren."
We extend our deepest condolences to Glen's friends and family, including his wife and fellow A.G. Rhodes Cobb Care Partner, Brenda Skipwith.
