Inspiring Futures

College Mentorship Program

Calling all high school students with intellectual disabilities - IN! is hosting a college mentorship program for you to meet with current college students from inclusive higher education programs to learn about college options and life after high school. In this program, students will participate in 6 virtual mentorship sessions where college mentors will share their experiences about transitioning to college and answer student questions along the way. Our fall sessions are just around the corner and applications to participate are due September 30th. Be sure to read the details and apply ASAP.

Fall Webinar Series Continues:

Coming up next, we will be discussing the specifics of current inclusive higher education programming in Colorado during our IN! 101 webinar, followed by financial preparation techniques. On October 6th hear from Mike Keglovits, CollegeInvest ABLE and Special Programs Manager, about how to prepare financially for higher education and utilize ABLE accounts to feel confident about sending your student with intellectual disabilities to college. See the full schedule and click below to register in advance.

Student Stories:

What's it like living on campus?

The fall semester is well underway, and our students at ACC, UCCS, and UNC are settling into their rhythm of classes, homework, and ongoing studying. But we know that college is about more than academics and students are navigating many other components, such as socialization and independent living. Inclusive higher education programs work to support students in each of these areas and offer guidance through all the transitions. One of the big transitions students face is living on campus. Hear from current and past UNC GOAL students about what it's like to live on campus and grow in independence. To hear more student stories, check out IN!'s youtube channel here

Sponsor Spotlight:

We want to give a special shout out to arc Thrift Stores for their corporate sponsorship of the Croquet Soiree fundraiser and their ongoing commitment to inclusivity! The arc not only donated to support the cause but are also bringing an entire croquet team to participate in the tournament. One of their players, Elnaz, is a recent graduate from Elevate at ACC and has since been hired to work at the corporate offices of arc Thrift Stores to pursue her goal of being an office assistant. We are so grateful for the amazing work they do and their continued support of college pathways!
