Important Update: Retirement Plan Catch-Up Contributions Changing in 2026

Dear GW Retirement Plan Participants,
Beginning January 1, 2026, new federal rules under SECURE Act 2.0 will require certain employees to make catch-up contributions to GW’s Supplemental 403(b) Plan on an after-tax Roth basis.

- Employees age 50 or older in 2026 AND
- Earned more than $145,000* in FICA wages (Box 3 on your 2025 form W-2) from GW in 2025
|
*Please note: The $145,000 income threshold is subject to annual indexing for inflation and may change from year to year based on IRS guidelines.
|
|
|

Pre-tax catch-up contributions will no longer be allowed for these employees.
- Regular contributions up to the standard limit may still be made pre-tax, Roth, or both.
|
Review your current elections in NetBenefits and consult a financial advisor to understand how this change may impact your retirement and tax strategy.
GW will provide additional guidance and personalized communications to potentially affected employees before the January 1, 2026 effective date.
