For students staying on campus over the holiday, if you need an extra snack or a few extra groceries to get you through winter break, please stop by the Cavs Cave located in Hannon, Room 103, to get your essentials before the end of the day Thursday, Dec. 21. The Cavs Cave is open to all students in need weekdays, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., and is accessible with a Walsh ID swipe. There is no charge for the food. The shelves are stocked with non-perishable food items and the newly added refrigerator/freezer is stocked with fresh and frozen food. In addition, there is a wide selection of personal hygiene products. This is a great program, and we really hope you take advantage of it!

To prepare for the closure, please read the following:
Microsoft requires use of the Authenticator app to get the 2-digit code it may ask for. Make sure you are set over break if you need access to email or other campus services.
Not sure if your password will expire over break?
Change your password before you leave in case it expires during break, you can visit the help desk to resolve any problems. Remember passwords expire every 90 days.
Make sure you have 2 types of multi-factor authentication if you do need to change your password go to aka.ms/MFASetup and log in to update that information.
Install the authenticator app and set it up on your mobile device, so you can log in anywhere if you do not have wireless coverage.
International students – if you are changing phones when you go home, you need to set up the multi factor for that device. Before you leave, set up the app on your international phone.
On campus faculty, staff, student workers – remember to shut down computers and turn off monitors before you vacate your area for winter break.

Prepare for Your Return to Campus in January 2024 |
Student ID badge
Keep your current student ID in a safe place over the winter break so you remember to bring it back to campus upon your return in January.
Parking Permit Hanger
The parking hanger you have now will be the same permit you use when you return to campus in January. If there is a change to your residency status over the break, you will need to update your parking permit hanger. Please bring your parking permit hanger into the Office of Student Affairs upon your return to campus for an updated permit hanger.
Spring 2024 classes have been loaded in ECN
If you do not see your Fall classes on your favorites bar in ECN, go to the waffle squares on the top right to view all courses and check your favorites. The Favorites bar can only hold 8 courses.
Bookstore Reminders
A bookstore selection email was sent out on Monday, Dec. 11, with the option to choose “pickup or shipping.” Opt out will begin after your selection email is received. If you receive a pickup notice during winter break (Dec. 22-Jan. 1), you can pick up beginning Tuesday, Jan. 2. If there are any items on your book list that say “delivered via ECN” you will automatically receive access to those electronic materials the day the course opens in ECN.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest |
In Dr. Martin Luther King’s A Gift of Love: Sermons from Strength to Love and Other Preachings, he was quoted as saying “We must in strength and humility meet hate with love.” Additionally, Walsh University is using the virtue of humility as the framework to promote a campus environment that encourages looking through the lens of God’s grace resulting in cultural curiosity, human dignity, and respect of one another.
Describe in 500-750 words what humility means to you and where in your life have you exercised grace, dignity, and respect towards others in your community? A copy of Dr. King’s A Gift of Love: Sermons from Strength to Love and Other Preachings will be available in Student Affairs.
