The women’s basketball team has earned a spot in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women's Basketball National Championship and will open tournament play against the Corban University Warriors.

After a strong season competing in the Red River Athletic Conference, the Jaguars now shift their focus to the national stage as they begin their pursuit of a championship.

The University will host a send-off for the team today, Tuesday, March 10 at 3 p.m. at Mod C. Time is subject to change based on weather, check social media @tamusanantonio for any updates.

The University is currently accepting applications for vendors at Festival de Cascarones, the University's fun-filled culmination of Fiesta season, featuring live music, games, carnival rides, and delicious food.

Departments can sign up to purchase a booth and provide a free activity or pass out information. 

March 14 is the deadline to submit an application.

In addition to vendors, the University is also seeking volunteers for Festival de Cascarones. Participants outside the A&M-SA community must pass a background check, including alumni.

Volunteers must be 16 or older and attend one of the following mandatory volunteer orientations:

Employees may work with their supervisor to flex their work hours during the week of FDC.

When traveling with students more than 25 miles from campus, follow the established procedures to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures. 

Submitting Required Forms

The travel packet must be submitted at least 20 days before the day of departure. This packet should include details such as the purpose of the trip, a list of attendees, risk management information, and other relevant data.

Each person traveling is required to complete the individual travel form.

Post-Travel Responsibilities

Upon returning, the student organization advisor is responsible for submitting the Crime Statistic Report Form.

Pre-Approval Submission in Emburse

When submitting your Pre-Approval in Emburse, under Traveler Type, select Student-Domestic. This selection ensures that the request is routed to the correct parties and all travel is coded as student travel (including employee travel).

The Strengths Champions Spring Workshop Series is open to all faculty and staff. This two-part professional development experience is designed to help participants lead, collaborate, and grow using a strengths-based approach.

Led by two Certified CliftonStrengths Coaches, sessions will explore Leading with Strengths, the Four Domains, Theme Dynamics, and the Power and Edge of Strengths. Participants must attend both workshop days.

There is no cost to participate, and lunch will be provided. Space is limited.

A&M-San Antonio invites you to join our Accessibility Series. Learn how to make your content more accessible and inclusive through short, hands-on sessions. Bring your laptop and get practical experience with document structure, images and alt text, hyperlinks, and accessible writing. Beginner sessions offer focused instruction, while intermediate sessions provide additional support and guidance.

Join the Student Counseling Center for an educational presentation by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. With an emphasis on early intervention, support, and stigma reduction, this presentation equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to take proactive measures on campus and beyond to help prevent suicide.

The University unveiled its 2026 Fiesta medal at a special on-campus event. Representing A&M-San Antonio’s growing presence on the South Side while honoring the city’s beloved Fiesta celebration, the medal's design is inspired by the campus’s Torre de Esperanza. During the event, the headliner for Festival de Cascarones was also revealed: Jaime Olivares y Los Mensajeros del Sabor.

The University's Health and Kinesiology Program, launched in 2008, has developed a strong tradition of supporting innovative student research. Twin brothers Keith and Ken Hutchins earned top honors at the 2025 Texas Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Annual Convention, and Kinesiology Club President Kassady Salazar is conducting research in preparation for a career as an athletic trainer.
