Through an arts-based photovoice project, fifteen Georgia Tech graduate students documented their lived experiences to explore the complexities of belonging on campus. Prismatic: Belonging in View transforms these reflections into a visual and narrative exhibition that reveals belonging not as a fixed state, but as a layered, evolving experience. 12 Graduate Students Named as Finalists for 2026 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition

Seventy-four graduate students took the stage during last week’s preliminary rounds of Georgia Tech’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition, each tasked with explaining their complex research in just three minutes. From that impressive pool, 12 finalists representing disciplines across campus have advanced to the final competition on April 7, 2026, in the John Lewis Student Center. Quadrant-i and CREATE_X offer a dedicated faculty and graduate student track within the 12-week accelerator, providing $10k in commercialization funding, mentorship from Quadrant-i Principals, and more than $200K in in-kind service credits to help turn research into scalable ventures. Participants also gain access to Georgia Tech's venture ecosystem, including the Research Investment Fund, and networking opportunities with venture capitalists, CEOs, and startup leaders. The Peer Coaching Program is now accepting applications to become a Peer Coach in Fall 2026! The PCP trains students to provide one-on-one support and education to their peers. There is a strong need for more graduate student coaches, since plenty of graduate students seek coaching services each year. Applicants must submit an application with two letters of recommendation no later than April 7th. Interested students should attend the Open House event on April 3 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm at the Center for Mental Health Care and Resources upstairs in the Smithgall Student Services Building, Ste. 238 (pizza and snacks will be provided!). Apply now to attend the 7th annual 3M RISE Symposium (Raising Influence in Science and Engineering). The purpose of the Symposium is to introduce emerging doctoral students in science and engineering to the wide range of rewarding careers in research and development at 3M. This virtual event takes place August 17 - 19, 2026, and it is a great way for future STEM leaders to get introduced to the corporate world. Ideal applicants are expected to complete their graduate degree appointment within 24 months of the RISE event. 3M will accept applicants from any STEM field. The RISE Symposium application deadline is May 1, 2026.

Step into an unforgettable evening at the Grad Gala: Night at the Museum on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 7–10 p.m. Graduate students are invited to dress to impress and enjoy a formal night of music, dancing, and celebration at Fernbank Museum.
Hosted by the Graduate Student Government Association, this graduate-student-only event permits each ticket holder to bring one guest. Tickets are available online now. BuzzCard ID is required for entry.
Parking is available at Fernbank, and a complimentary shuttle service will be provided to and from Georgia Tech’s campus on a first-come, first-served basis.

One graduate student will be selected for each commencement ceremony to present an inspirational speech of two to three minutes before their classmates and guests. If you are a master's or PhD candidate who is graduating this spring and would like to be considered as the Commencement student reflection speaker, check out the link below for more information and submission requirements.
