2019 May Email Newsletter

From the Camp Director,

It's June and Camp is starting. We actually started early this year with a couple of new rental camps and school field trips. We have been so blessed by the amount of people that want to come here to have their camp or school field trip. We actually did our very first school field trip overnighter and it went fantatsic. We had the 5th grade class from Attica come for that trip. It is so exciting to see the ministry of Hanging Rock used in so many ways to shine the Light of Christ on those that come here. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they might see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. —Matthew 5:16
Please be in prayer for the campers, faculty, event coordinators, missionaries, and staff as we prepare for another summer. Training has started for our summer staff, kitchen staff and maintenance staff.
I look forward to reporting in the July Newsletter on the  month of June  and what impact Hanging Rock has made in the lives of young people and adults that attend  camp this summer.

Family Camp: August 30- September 2, 2019

We have a GREAT family camp lined up for you this year. We are excited about having the Clarks with us this year. George will be our main speaker and he has some of his family joining him for some sessions as well. George is very familiar with Hanging Rock. He grew up at the First Church of Christ in Catlin, Illinois. Hanging Rock is his camp. He also came back to Hanging Rock after his first year at JU to serve as summer staff. We are also excited to have the Worship team from Fowler Christian lead us in worship. We have great teachers for your children and teens and all of the Hanging Rock fun activities will be available. Of course, MOUSE EARS will be another GREAT HIT! Registration is up and we look forward to having you join us this year.

Pool Update:

We are so close to having the pool ready for summer camp. The liner is in and the fence is up, concrete finished, lifeguard chairs are up, restrooms are clean and....... everything was going well until the pool motor broke on the main pool. Very frustrating! So, we are needing some help to repair the motor. The cost is just a little more than $2,000. If you would like to help us with this just click on the pool button below and we will be thankful for any donation we get to help us with that. The Goal is to have the pool ready for campers to swim by June 6th.
