McWhorter Students Experience Pharmacy Abroad this Summer

We provide students with numerous opportunities to enrich their educational experience by participating in pharmacy programs abroad. Students and faculty traveled in May to experience pharmacy and education in Great Britain and Spain. In July, pharmacy and nursing students worked alongside one another in Rome, Italy, on a mission trip with e3 Partners Ministry.
International experiences are offered through electives, such as courses that focus on exploring pharmacy and health care in different countries. These electives are designed to teach students about pharmacists’ role in those countries’ respective health care systems.

Students travel in groups with their classmates, led by experienced faculty. While abroad, the groups visit various sites, including community pharmacies, hospitals, universities, professional associations and famous landmarks.

Alumni Updates: Southern Tour, 2025 Events

We wrapped up the Southern Tour in June in Fairhope. The tour kicked off in February as a way to reconnect with McWhorter School of Pharmacy alumni chapters. Dean Michael Crouch, faculty and staff invited alumni, students and prospective students to enjoy dinner and fellowship  in 12 cities across the Southeast. The event was a huge success, with alumni and friends gathering to reconnect and celebrate our shared legacy.
We are excited about the upcoming Samford Pharmacy World Series. In 2025, we are planning alumni networking events centered around baseball games in Birmingham, Huntsville, Atlanta, Chattanooga and Nashville. Stay tuned for more details.
