An NYU student has reported to the Department of Campus Safety, an individual engaging in a course of conduct that is Stalking.
The first incident took place on Monday, September 9, 2024 at approximately 7:30 p.m. and was reported to the Department of Campus Safety; the individual followed the student from Union Square Park southward along University Place until the victim entered Lenwich Sandwich Shop, located at 120 University Place, to evade the offender. The second incident occurred on October 20, 2024; the student was followed while walking northward along Washington Square East past the Silver Center, ultimately entering Weinstein Hall to evade the offender.
There were no words exchanged and no other interaction was reported. No physical injuries were reported. The student was offered support services. The student previously reported the September incident to the NYPD and has been offered assistance in reporting the October 20 incident.
Description of Suspect: The suspect was described by the complainant as male presenting, aged between 40-50, a medium complexion, with a long gray beard, wearing a navy-blue New York Yankees baseball hat, a hoodie (unknown color), and carrying a Target shopping bag.
