DIRECTOR'S NOTE
What a tremendous summer of film and music development we’ve had here in Oklahoma! In addition to welcoming two new films in the rebate queue, Oklahoma is currently setting the scene for the production of “Wicked Love”, an updated take on Shakespeare’s classic “Macbeth” which is set in the world of high-school football. Musically, the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is turning up the volume as we are prepare for both our next Networking + Mentoring Event and the upcoming Americana Festival in Nashville. We hope you will stay tuned for news on those events and more opportunities as the months ahead are sure to provide some unforgettable film and music experiences.

"Wicked Love" Starts Production in Oklahoma
The Oklahoma Film + Music Office, with producers Kristofer McNeeley of Marvista Entertainment and Stacia Crawford of SaigeBelle Films, is pleased to announce the start of production of the feature film “Wicked Love” in Oklahoma City and Guthrie, Oklahoma. The film is utilizing the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program, administered by OF+MO, and commenced principal photography on July 25, 2016. READ MORE

Take a First Look at "American Gods"
Watch the first look at "American Gods", which was partially filmed in Oklahoma utilizing the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program. 
Based on the acclaimed novel by Neil Gaiman, the series tells the story of a recently released convict who finds himself thrown into a war brewing on earth between mythological gods both old and new. The production filmed at various locations across the state and provided many job opportunities for our local crew and support services. Most recently, the series cast Oklahoma native Kristin Chenoweth. “American Gods” will debut on the STARZ Network in 2017. For more information on the show, please visit their Twitter account.

Oklahomans Win Big at the 2016 Heartland Chapter Regional Emmy Awards
Each year, the Heartland Emmy Chapter, a division of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, recognizes excellence in television, broadcasting and media on a regional level with the prestigious Emmy award. This year a number of Oklahomans were recognized among various news, documentary and media affiliates including local filmmakers Russ Kirkpatrick, Andy Kinslow, Jeremy Charles, Sterlin Harjo, Lucas Ross, Nathan Poppe, Greg Singleton, Clayton Tramel, Sam Calvin, Bunee Tomlinson and many more. For a complete list of winners, please visit the Emmy Awards Winners List.  
IATSE Studio Mechanics Local 484 Announces Limited Time Reduced Price
International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Studio Mechanics Local 484 will reduce the cost of new membership to $440 for applications received until the end of 2016 for applicants residing in the Oklahoma and the southern Texas region, including Houston & Gulf Coast. This Membership Drive will be open to film professionals who have a total of 30 days union work or 90 days non-union work in their craft as well as current members in good standing of IATSE stage locals. Applicants must be residents of Texas or Oklahoma and have 18 months residency at time of application. For more information, please visit www.iatse484.org.

American Ninja Warrior has an Economic Impact in OKC
Oklahoma City was one of five cities selected as a host destination for Season 8 of NBC’s hit series “American Ninja Warrior”. The production, which shot in May utilizing the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program, brought a sizeable economic impact to the state with over 850 hotel rooms booked and an estimated crew of about 200 which included local labor, caterers and rented equipment from various vendors. Open Call for Oklahoma Musicians, Poets and FilmmakersOF+MO shows support to the Oklahoma Hip Hop Festival (OKHHFest), by hosting an open call for musicians to help fill the performance slots available at the event. Musicians performing at OKHHFest, which will take place in the historical Deep Deuce district in Oklahoma City on November 5, 2016, will help support the hip hop culture while impacting youth hip hop programs throughout the state. POSTOAK Wine and Jazz Festival Announces Final Selections for Music Lineup
OF+MO supported the POSTOAK Wine & Jazz Festival , presented by Citizens Bank, by hosting an open call for jazz musicians to help fill the remaining performance slots available at the event. This call for entries helped promote and populate the Oklahoma Music Guide, a free online directory administered by OF+MO. This event is set to take place September 2-4, 2016, at the POSTOAK Lodge and Retreat in the rolling Osage Hills seven miles northwest of downtown Tulsa. The musicians chosen by POSTOAK through the call for entries hosted by OF+MO are Eldridge Jackson and the Max Ridgway Trio. Additional music acts for the festival include headliner Grady Nichols, featuring Mary Cogan and Starr Fisher, Multiphonic Funk and Tulsa Latin Style. OF+MO to Attend Americana Music Festival and Conference
OF+MO is thrilled to announce that we’ll be attending the 17th annual Americana Music Festival and Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, September 20-25! Some of Oklahoma’s finest Americana musicians will have the opportunity to perform at our private event on Friday, September 23, at The Filming Station, including Susan Herndon, Levi Parham, Carter Sampson and Jimmy LaFave. Sarah Coburn Inducted into the Rhythm & Routes Oklahoma Music Trail
OF+MO announces Sarah Coburn as August's Rhythm & Routes inductee. American soprano Sarah Coburn has been garnering international attention for her operatic achievements for more than a decade. This Oklahoma-raised opera professional cultivated her talents with several vocal instructors across the state and has gone on to share her voice with local, national and international audiences. With a current population of nearly 50,000 residents, the City of Enid is a very film-friendly community boasting its own western film production studio, Skeleton Creek Productions, as well as serving as a host destination for the travel adventure web series “The Fireball Run” in 2014. This month, the City of Enid welcomes filmmakers from across the country to the 2016 Film Like Yours (FLY) Film Festival taking place at various locations throughout its historic downtown Main Street community. The city’s downtown area is one of twenty-one sites currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places including the Santa Fe Train Depot, Marshall Hall and the H. H. Champlin House.
