Presidential Proclamation Regarding H-1B Visas
As you may already know, the White House issued a new
Presidential Proclamation on September 19, which requires employers to pay a $100,000 fee for each individual they seek to sponsor for employment. USCIS
released an update on September 20 clarifying that the proclamation does not apply to current H-1B visa holders or those with approved H-1B petitions. Current H-1B visa holders should therefore be able to travel to and from the United States without being affected by the Proclamation. Please note that this proclamation does not impact current F-1 students or those authorized for OPT. If you encounter students with questions, please direct them to
