Presenting NYU International Education Week 2025

International Education Week (IEW) will be held from November 3-7 at NYU this year! This annual celebration is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the diverse perspectives and cultures that enrich our NYU community. Stay tuned for more information about events and activities planned for the week, including cultural showcases, discussions, and opportunities to connect with our global community. Key Highlights for International Students This Month

OPT season has started for December graduates! For those of you who review and approve an international student’s OPT request that comes to you via email, we hope this Reviewing an OPT Request video proves useful.

Presidential Proclamation Regarding H-1B Visas

As you may already know, the White House issued a new Presidential Proclamation on September 19, which requires employers to pay a $100,000 fee for each individual they seek to sponsor for employment. USCIS released an update on September 20 clarifying that the proclamation does not apply to current H-1B visa holders or those with approved H-1B petitions. Current H-1B visa holders should therefore be able to travel to and from the United States without being affected by the Proclamation. Please note that this proclamation does not impact current F-1 students or those authorized for OPT. If you encounter students with questions, please direct them to contact OGS.
