Psalm 96:9-10
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness;
    tremble before him, all the earth.
 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
    The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
    he will judge the peoples with equity.

New International Version (NIV)
                   Are you worried about the world?  Every day the news stories create consternation.  Honestly, it is overwhelming.  With so much going wrong, we may become desensitized to the tragedies going on all over the world.

                God is not without recourse when the world is at its worst.  Every time God's people worship, we bear witness to the truth that our holy God is the eternal King.  He reigns over all the earth.  This means that the world will not end with a bang or a sigh, but the triumphant shout of our King.  He alone will judge the peoples of the earth.

                Worship is a wonderful way to deal with our worries.  The good news is we are worse off than we thought, and more loved than we ever dreamed.  Can we believe that God loves our broken world?  He made it and he sent his only Son to redeem it.   This is our Father's world and let us never forget, that though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.

 Pray with me:
Father, when we are tempted to worry teach us to worship.  Help us to seek first your Kingdom and your righteousness.  We trust you to keep your promise to provide everything we need as we put you first.  With all creation we long for the redemption of your broken world.  Even so come quickly Lord Jesus.  Amen.
