Back-to-School Teacher Celebration & Community Supply Drive
PENCIL was absolutely thrilled with the turnout of our inaugural celebration! PENCIL Partners, employees, and volunteers came together with Mayor Briley and Director of MNPS, Dr. Adrienne Battle, to celebrate the teachers who work hard every day to educate and protect the future of our community. Over 850 Metro Nashville public school teachers lined up at Bellevue Middle, Eagle View Elementary, I.T. Creswell and McGavock High School for a bag of goodies from local partners and the LP PENCIL Box. We played games, crafted, and enjoyed a lunch catered by local restaurants and wonderful supporters – without whom this event would not be possible!
A special thank you to the PENCIL Partners, volunteers and donors who took this event to the next level. We had 26 generous partners, 52 fantastic volunteers and raised more than $2,700 worth of school supplies.
