Dear Friend,

"People really came through for Upstream Arts"

That's what our accountant said when she took a look at our books last month. As we continue to move through a year of evolving unknowns, one thing we haven't had to question is whether or not our community is with us. When the pandemic hit six months ago, we began to anticipate a budget shortfall at the end of our fiscal year on June 30th. Yet, thanks to everyone in our community who contributed, we EXCEEDED our goal - raising an astonishing $97,741! Your support enabled our Staff and Teaching Artists to pivot all of our programming online while reaching the same number of people as we did pre-pandemic! From all of us at Upstream Arts, thank you for showing that people with disabilities are a priority, especially at a time when our community is facing heightened systemic challenges.
Your continued investment means that we will be able to keep putting our focus where it matters most: listening to and amplifying the voices of our participants. This year, we've already raised $16,795 towards our $100,000 goal to power our programming at a time when both the arts and accessability have never been more important. Will you help us close the gap?
For as little as $5/month, you can support our work all year long by providing us with a reliable independent source of funding. Will you join us by making a one-time or monthly contribution?
Invest in access

Upstream Arts and Minneapolis Public Schools honored with a Social Emotional Innovation Award!

We're excited to announce that the Minneapolis School District in collaboration with Upstream Arts has been awarded an SEL in Action Award from the NoVo Foundation, in partnership with Education First and the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, for the 2020-2021 school year! This highly competitive grant selected only 40 out of 800 district applicants based on innovation in social emotional learning. We're honored to receive this award to further accessibility in our schools, particularly during this period of online learning.
Warm hands for all you do,
Julie, Matt, Bree and all of us at Upstream Arts
