We have been blessed by an individual giving us a $25,000 matching donation for the Great is Thy Faithfullness Campaign. We have recieved $9,400 toward this so far. Will you pray about helping us reach this goal. We have until December 5th to get the match.

From the Camp Director,

We had a great September. Family Camp was such a blessing. So many families came to be together. It's great to see all the churches represented during Family Camp. We were blessed with great messages from Kerry Allen and Worship by Dean Nester. We had our first family camp family challenge. WOW! The compettion was intense. LOL. I'm glad so many families took time to just laugh and have fun together. We are happy to report that the Lafayette Sky team won the traveling trophy. Sky stands for ????

As we prepare for the fall around here at Hanging Rock, we are going to need some volunteers to help with leaves. Maybe your youth group or small group would like to come and help this fall. Please let Jon or Casey know when you can come. joncollins@hangingrock.org or caseyisdell@hangingrock.org.

We also had a great Minister's Brunch where 21 of our supporting churches got together to nominate new ministers to serve on our camp committee. We are happy to have Luci Baker - Children's Minister at Northview Christian-Danville, IN; Josh Hawks- Youth Minister at First Church of Christ in Georgetown, Ill; Sabrina Gossett- Childrens Director at North Salem Christian Church; Patrick Gould- Youth Minister at Williamsport Christian Church. The other members of the committee are: Jeff Keller- (Chair) Bady Lane Church, Paul DelValley from Colfax Christian Church, Kyle Purdy from West Lebanon Christian Church, Ian Costandi from Hickman Heights Christian Church and Dave Sims from Sterling Christian Church.

From the Associate Director,

Fall has arrived and there is a brisk chill in the air. It is refreshing every year to experience the change of seasons. I have told people in the past that it would be nice to live somewhere where it is mid 70s year-round, but if I really think about it, I like the change of seasons. Camp life has seasons as well. We are always gearing up for summer camp, but there is retreat season as well. I had a guy at church last week ask me if I am enjoying the slow time at camp and I chuckled. I told him that there isn’t a slow time at camp anymore. We transition from summer camp right in to retreat season. We have had close to 1,500 people on camp property since summer camp ended in August. We are slated to have about 800 people between now and the end of the year with various retreats and groups here. We stay busy around here, while always preparing for next summer. With all of that said we can not do any of this without your support. So, thank you so much for all you do to support the ministry of Hanging Rock.

From the desk of Hanging Rock’s new Maintenance Director, Jon Collins.

Hi everyone, I am excited to join the team here! As my family and I merge into the Hanging Rock Camp Family, that familiar verse in Jerimiah 29:11 comes to mind where the Lord, in essence, says “I know the plans I have for you, to prosper you, not harm you & to give you hope and a future.” I don’t know what challenges and blessings lie ahead for Hanging Rock, but I do know that it is the one who knows those plans, who we will be walking with and looking to as those challenges and blessings unfold!

This morning my bible reading included Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” As the camp moves forward and I consider those things that are needing attention and I become more aware of some other things that could be done, I wonder who could step up to join in these efforts? I mean, what other 413 ”ers” are out there?

We are looking for some volunteers!

If The Lord has uniquely positioned, you to be able available (with or without a skill set, that verse says “all things”) on Thursdays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (we will even provide lunch)

Jessica Chadwell,

We are very happy to introduce Jessica as our newest staff member here at Hanging Rock.

Jessica is married to Hunter who is the minister at Attica Christian Church. They also have a new baby boy Donovan Blake.

Jessica will be serving as Equestrian Staff. She will work part-time helping us oversee the horses that we have and also overseeing all horse camps and managing any retreat group trail rides.

We are very happy to have her here at Hanging Rock.

Great is Thy Faithfulness Update:

We are just $50,000 shy of reaching our goal to finish our last project with the Great is Thy Faithfullness Campaign. The Hilton project is under way. The footers have been dug and concrete poured. Jim Morgan Construction will start soon on transforming this building into better usable space. We do have a matching donation to help us reach the goal. Anything you donate up to $25,000 will be matched dollor for dollar.
