Message from the Chair
Friends of the Vanderbilt University Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Greetings!
The Spring 2023 semester is now in the rear-view mirror, but our department is going full steam ahead in achieving our goals in research and planning for our educational endeavors in the coming semester. We have completed a tremendously successful academic year, marked by recognitions of our faculty, staff and students, 50% growth in research expenditures, and launching of several new large-scale research initiatives. Below, we share a few samples of the accomplishments and recognitions of CEE students and faculty in the past few months. With the announcement that the next dean of the school of engineering (Dean Krish Roy) and the conclusion of the strategic planning process over the past year, our department will be entering a new and exciting period – a period that will drive the department to new heights in research, discovery, and education.
