| What is Open Source Software & How does it fit in Agriculture?
Open-source software (OSS) is a software product for which the code is freely available to the public to use or modify. This is essentially the opposite from what we call proprietary software, which is privately owned and licensed. Open-source software may sound like something that would only be useful to an IT specialist or computer software engineer, but it is relevant to many of us in the ag industry, especially farmers.

Join the UW-Madison Division of Extension’s Agriculture Water Quality Program for a biweekly webinar series that will focus on the important factors impacting ground and surface water quality.
Each webinar will be one hour, starting at 12:00pm, and will have available one soil and water continuing education credit for certified crop advisors. Registration is free but required.

| Free Federal Tax Filing Options for Wisconsin Residents
Each year, millions of Wisconsinites file individual federal and state taxes. Some people hire a tax accountant and others file taxes on their own, often using a software program to complete the task. For the upcoming tax filing season, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which is responsible for collecting federal taxes from U.S. taxpayers, will offer two free filing options for federal taxes to Wisconsin residents who qualify—the IRS Free File program and the Direct File program.

Grazing and Virtual Fencing on Dairy Farms
Much research is taking place on how heifer grazing can fit into the modern dairy farm. Virtual fencing is also becoming more popular. This presentation will cover what you need to know to incorporate virtual fencing into an operation. In this webinar, Dr. David Jaramillo talks about how grazing fits into the modern dairy, and Stephanie Bowers, our Regional Dairy Educator in Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano & Winnebago Counties shares some information on virtual fencing for dairy systems who need it.
