One of our most popular events is now open for registration. Inspired by American painter and PBS television personality Bob Ross’ love of the outdoors, Oregon Parks Forever is again participating in a "virtual" 5K event to help plant trees in Oregon's parks & forests.

Participants can walk, hike, run, or roll to complete their 5K (about 3 miles) anywhere outdoors anytime between April 18-26 in celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day. Runners are encouraged to register by March 15th to ensure that your swag arrives before the event week. Registration will close on April 1 or when registrations are full.

One of the Oregon Coast’s most festive traditions is just around the corner. Starting November 27, Shore Acres State Park’s Botanical Gardens will once again be transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland, welcoming visitors nightly through New Year’s Eve.

Admission to the Shore Acres Holiday Lights is always free, but a $10 parking pass is required. Passes can be reserved in advance through the Shore Acres State Park Learn more about the event.
