Dear Vanguard Families,
I hope this email finds you well. It’s hard to believe that we are already wrapping up another school year. Each Vanguard program is busily working to ensure that end-of-year events occur in a fun, yet safe manner. You will receive information from Program Supervisors over the next month that outlines the end-of-year activities.
We will also end the school year by modifying our Health & Safety Plan to reflect new guidance regarding mask-wearing. Effective Monday, May 17, as per Chester County Health Department, “any student engaging in high exertion OUTDOOR activities, including but not limited to, athletics, exercise or play activities, is NOT required to wear masks when actively engaged in those activities.” The Universal Face Covering Order issued by Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Health is still in effect. It requires students and staff to continue to wear masks except for the above-noted exceptions.
Any student who wishes to wear a mask during an outdoor activity will be permitted to do so. Students will be required to wear a mask to and from these activities. Staff will work with our students to answer questions, provide clarification and determine where masks can be stored during non-mask times. We are so grateful to be able to take one more step towards “normal.”
Please let me know if you have any questions and/or concerns.
