APD Recruits Train with Seniors at A.G. Rhodes
Atlanta Police Department Academy recruits held a volunteer and training day at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta on May 10 to learn how to work with older adults.

Recruits participated in a “virtual dementia tour” that simulates the physical and mental challenges those with dementia face. They also volunteered in group activities, playing BINGO (a resident favorite!), tie-dyeing shirts, and helping assemble new bedside tables.

We hope this glimpse into our wonderful community of residents and perspective on those living with dementia serves them well as they begin their careers.

May is Older Americans Month but every month we celebrate the wisdom and vibrancy of the older adults at A.G. Rhodes and the communities in which they live. We've had so much fun this month with activities from Twin Day, shopping at the Country Store with BINGO "dollars", hosting GSU Nutrition students for an "Introduction to Horticultural Therapy", Nurses Week celebrations, a Paint 'n Sip party, ice cream social, and more!
Team Updates & Accolades
We're delighted to welcome new team members to A.G. Rhodes! See our latest staff updates. And here's what a recent short-term resident had to say about his care experience at A.G. Rhodes!

"I was at A.G. Rhodes for rehabilitation. I'm a veteran and I've been to the VA Hospital for rehabilitation and two Hospital stays and I must say I felt like a soldier, expendable. At A.G. Rhodes I felt like family. Because of their care my stay was short because I recovered faster then the doctor thought."  ~
