Whom may we trust? In high school I served as peer counselor to classmates. To develop trust, we went on blindfolded trust walks, led by our peers. We also fell blindfolded off tables into the waiting arms of our peers. This certainly took trust to do but I'm not sure it developed my trust.
As David prepared to fulfill his calling as King, he needed trustworthy men. After years of mutual mistrust between his men and Saul's, his life would only be safe if his companions proved faithful.
When he asked a group from the tribe of Benjamin, Saul's tribe whether he could trust them, the Spirit fell on Amasai and he explained to David that his men were for David to bring peace. They trusted God's work in David's life so the King could trust them.
We can still trust God's people. When God's Spirit confirms his work in others to bring peace, we should trust. God is always working with us and for us through his people. We can trust fellow followers of Christ with our lives. Whom do you trust this way? Who may trust you to walk in the Spirit and bring peace?
