Monthly Dog Update - Dante
Hello all, it's Dante and I'm excited to share many of the skills I'm learning this month. The big guy whom is my friend and teacher has taught me to immediately run back to him when yes the word "whoa!" I hear him talking about an "emergency recall" but he sounds panic, so I hurriedly rush back and he seems happy when I return. Also, I now know how to walk, "backwards." I first learned by watching and copying my teacher. He still does it much better than me, but it's easier for me now. :) I've been working on "brace" this month, too. I've a long way to go before I'm really good at "bracing," but I'm going to show some stick-to-it-ness. The last thing I'm learning is how to deal with "loud sounds." I was startled for the longest time from sound noises. Now, I'm learning how to be calm and focus on my friends. I'm startled less and less from loud sound these days. I'm leaving with my outside family in a few weeks for the holidays. Talk to ya'll when I get back. Bye-bye!

"Teach a puppy, save two lives. Raising Dante and teaching him the skills to one day save a life of a veteran or first responder is our mission. I didn't expect for Dante to be saving my life, too." -Bernard
