| We’re excited to share that Chris Rehkamp, MPS, Director of Business Services at KU Innovation Park, is expanding his impact through a new partnership with the Digital Health Co/Lab at the University of Kansas.
In addition to his current role at the Park, Chris will serve as Assistant Director of Commercialization for the Co/Lab, dedicating a portion of his time to support digital health innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs. In this capacity, he’ll help accelerate digital health solutions from idea to impact.
Chris brings deep experience supporting startups, growing entrepreneurial ecosystems and bridging the gap between research and commercialization. A recognized entrepreneur and ecosystem builder, Chris earned a Master of Professional Studies in Technology Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland and was named a Community Builder to Watch by Startland News in 2022.

Digital Health Co/Lab at the University of Kansas invites you to join us for the second annual Innovators Day, an event dedicated to advancing innovation in digital health.
Keynote Address
Where the Rubber Meets the Road: A Process-Oriented Approach to Digital Health
Joshua Smyth, PhD, Ohio Eminent Scholar in Health Psychology at The Ohio State University, will explore how researchers and clinicians with ideas for new digital health tools can conduct early design and implementation studies that promote patient acceptance and sustained engagement. Drawing on his expertise in ambulatory assessment, intervention and mobile and digital delivery systems, Dr. Smyth will highlight practical strategies for novice researchers to blend social and health psychology principles throughout the lifecycle of a digital health idea. Attendees will learn how to begin background research, build collaborative teams and generate pilot data to support future grants, proposals and product development.
Dr. Smyth is an internationally recognized scholar with more than 400 publications and an h-index of 91. He has more than 25 years of continuous NIH funding totaling over $175 million in collaborative grants. A fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research and the Society of Behavioral Medicine, he is also an award-winning teacher and mentor dedicated to training the next generation of researchers
The agenda will feature sessions showcasing emerging ideas, research and collaborations in digital health. The event concludes with a networking happy hour, an opportunity to connect with peers, industry leaders and future collaborators.
New this year: Two workshops will be offered before Innovators Day from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Digital Health Co/Lab hosts a monthly Digital Health Seminar, offering a platform for innovators at various career stages to showcase their work. These presentations include innovations, grant proposals, business plans and investor pitches. All meetings are virtual and free to attend.
