Credit/No Credit Policy For Fall 2020

As we enter the final two months of the Fall 2020 semester, UWM wants to remind students that the university’s regular credit/no credit policy is back in effect and there are no plans to offer an emergency credit/no credit option at the end of the Fall 2020 semester. READ MORE

Enrollment Appointments Now Available For Spring 2021

An enrollment appointment is the first day and time that your student is able to enroll in classes for the next term. All active students, except new freshmen, are assigned an enrollment appointment. Campus Life During Pandemic: Library Gets A Little More Quiet

Campus looks pretty much the same. But a lot has changed at UWM amid the coronavirus pandemic. As part of the effort to limit the spread of COVID-19, the university requires students, faculty and staff to wear masks while indoors. Tables and workstations are spaced out in all buildings. On nearly every floor, Panther paw prints mark proper social distancing guidelines, each sticker at least six feet apart from the others. The library is no different. READ MORE

UWM Expands COVID-19 Testing To All Employees, Community

UWM has joined other UW System campuses in serving as a location for a federal “surge testing” effort aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19 in areas where there have been recent spikes. The six-week program done in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services uses Abbott BinaxNOW antigen tests that provide results in about 15 minutes. READ MORE

Student Internships In The Virtual Space 

The Department of African and African Diaspora Studies, Global & International Studies, and the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at UW-Milwaukee all want to support students in understanding the great opportunities that exist for remote work experiences and tips for success.The departments are sponsoring a pair of webinars where students will learn about advantages of virtual internships and ask key questions as they review their opportunities for internship placements.

UWM has a website to educate students on slowing the spread of COVID-19 and keeping the community safe. There is also a COVID-19 Self-Care and Monitoring Guide available for students.

UWM Food Pantry Open, Accepting Donations

The UWM Food Center and Pantry is open this fall and accepting online donations. It is currently operating Thursdays out of the 8th Note Coffeehouse in the UWM Union, with hopes of adding additional open hours during the semester. Contributions can also be made to the food pantry through their Amazon wishlist as well as through the UWM Foundation.

Impact 2-1-1 provides the latest list and hours for COVID-19 testing sites across Milwaukee County. Additionally, there is a listing of testing sites across the state, including in Waukesha and Washington County.
