Support The Annual RPAC Telethon on June 13th Through Investment & Volunteerism
On June 13, 2024, Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® and the RPAC (REALTORS® Political Action Committee) Fundraising Committee will host the Annual RPAC Telethon. RPAC plays a vital role in electing candidates who support and advocate for homeownership at all levels of government regardless of party affiliation. RPAC is a key benefit of REALTOR® membership, providing essential advocacy to protect the interests of real estate professionals and homeowners alike.
Members are encouraged to participate in the telethon on June 13th by volunteering a few hours to contact fellow members and secure their support for RPAC. Volunteers will be provided with lunch, and those who obtain 10 investments or more will earn a $75 certificate towards education at the Association of REALTORS® School or an MCE Season Pass.
Members are urged to respond to outreach efforts on the day of the telethon by making or increasing their RPAC investments.
The support of RPAC is crucial for safeguarding the real estate industry, clients, and the bottom line of REALTOR® members. For more information, or to participate, please contact Mike Carlin.

REALTOR® Cooperation and Compensation: Navigating a Changing Landscape (5-29-2024)
Following the proposed settlement of litigation claims brought on behalf of home sellers related to broker commissions, REALTORS® are left wondering how to move forward. Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® is committed to working closely with NAR and PAR to navigate next steps to ensure a seamless transition. Each week your Tri-County Today will bring information and resources to help members rise to the challenge of the changing industry.
FAQ: Does the proposed settlement mean buyer brokers may have to work for free?
No. NAR has long believed that it is in the interest of the sellers, buyers, and their brokers to make offers of compensation—but using the MLS to communicate offers of compensation will no longer be an option.
The types of compensation available for buyer brokers would continue to take multiple forms, including but not limited to:
- Fixed-fee commission paid directly by consumers.
- Concession from the seller.
- Portion of the listing broker’s compensation.
Compensation would continue to be negotiable and should always be negotiated between agents and the consumers they represent.
Visit TCSR, PAR and NAR web pages dedicated to the latest news and information regarding the NAR Litigation Settlement.

How to Define Your Niche Market (And How It Could Help Your Business)
REALTORS® are skilled at working with all types of clients and transactions, but defining your niche market can help transform your business in an ever-changing market. REALTOR® and Triple Play 2023 speaker Brandon Johnson shares his advice for defining your niche and how doing so can help you and your real estate business thrive.
What is a niche market?
A niche market includes clients whom REALTORS® are most interested in and most enjoy working with. This could be anyone from rural homebuyers interested in farms to luxury cabin seekers. As the name suggests, niche markets include unique or less common types of clients and transactions that may be better served by a REALTOR® with a certain interest or skill in that market area.
How does defining and focusing on your niche market help your real estate business?
Johnson believes finding a niche market can help advance Realtors® on both career and personal levels. While not everyone may want to define their niche, those who do can better serve their clients while feeling more personally fulfilled by their careers.
“It’s not wrong if someone wants to be a multi-demographic agent,” he says. “I just found that when an agent becomes hyper-focused on who they want to serve that fills their cup, not only does the client have a better experience, but the agent has a better quality of life and better quality of business.”

SRA: Uwchlan Township to Hold Hearing on Open Space Tax The Uwchlan Township Board Of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to receive comment and public testimony regarding a proposed ordinance to add a new Article V, “Open Space Tax.” The ordinance would authorize a referendum pursuant to the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Preservation Act, known as the Open Space Act. If passed, the ballot question would ask Uwchlan voters whether to approve the imposition of an additional earned income tax, in an amount not to exceed 0.25%, to finance the acquisition of interests in real property. The hybrid public meeting will take place on Monday, June 10, at 7:00 pm at the township building, 715 North Ship Road, Exton. The meeting may be accessed virtually through instructions on the township website.
