started as an initiative to raise public awareness of the research conducted by faculty in Kendall College of Arts & Sciences. It has since evolved into a genial event among faculty and staff at The University of Tulsa as well as the larger Tulsa community. This biannual event, spearheaded by Associate Professor of Political Science Ryan Saylor

alumna Colleen McCarty (BA ’08), becoming a parent changed her life in more ways than she expected. Complications from McCarty’s second pregnancy required months of bed rest, giving her a lot of time to re-examine what she wanted to do with her life. “I just kind of came to the conclusion I wasn’t really doing my purpose in life,” she recently told the Tulsa World. “I wanted to do more, and I’ve always been interested in criminal justice.”... For Chinese language minors Layla Johnson and Sarah Downs, Christmas Eve brought more anticipation than usual. The next day, Johnson and her family watched YouTube, with Johnson translating little by little, as the winners of the 2023 Chinese Grandmaster Language Competition
