UO EVENTS
  • Get to know your new president at the Meet and Greet with President Scholz on Thursday, August 10, noon–1:30 p.m. in the Knight Campus lobby. Refreshments will be provided.
  • Shop for used furniture, home goods, and office equipment at the Surplus Public Sale in the Romania Warehouse. The warehouse will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays through September 7, 3:00–7:00 p.m. 
  • Celebrate and learn more about Oregon artists at Oregon Culture Night on Thursday, August 10, 6:00–7:30 p.m. at the Museum of Natural and Cultural History. Free with your UO ID.
BASIC NEEDS ASSISTANCE
  • To help ease the cost of childcare, eligible UO student parents can apply for the 2023–24 UO Childcare Subsidy.
  • Stay full this summer. Pick up free supplemental food at the Student Food Pantry on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4:00–6:00 p.m. throughout the rest of the summer.
NOTEWORTHY
  • The Craft Center in the EMU will reopen on Monday, August 7. UO students can drop in at one of eight studios when a workshop is not in session. Workshops available this month include fiber arts, glass working, painting, and woodworking.
  • Fall registration and waitlists reopen for continuing students on Monday, August 14, at 9:00 a.m.
  • Continuing students already on a waitlist between July 5 and August 14 still hold their positions.
TALKS AND WORKSHOPS
GET OUTSIDE
The UO Outdoor Program reminds students about the importance of recreation and has organized numerous biking and kayaking adventures around Eugene. If you prefer to experience nature on your own, the OP Rental Barn can set you up with all the right gear.
  • Enlighten your senses at the Stop and Smell the Roses Ride along the river to the Rose Garden on Thursday, August 10, departing at 5:30 p.m. from the OP Rental Barn.
  • Hit the pavement to catch some currents at the Ride the River Outing on Friday, August 11, 5:30–8:00 p.m. Meet at the OP Rental Barn.
  • Put in some extra miles during the End of the Path Bike Ride on Wednesday, August 16, departing at 5:30 p.m. from the OP Rental Barn.
  • Spend a day celebrating the beauty and fun of our local waterway at the Willamette River Festival on Sunday, August 27, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. at Alton Baker Park.
  • Be sure to follow these water safety tips if you head to the rivers or lakes to cool off.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS
  • Drop in for a virtual counseling session with Let’s Talk on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout August, 1:00–3:00 p.m. on Zoom.
  • Ensure your healthcare expenses are covered for next school year with the Student Health Benefits Plan. Open enrollment is available now and closes on Wednesday, October 4.
CAMPUS PARKING PERMITS
  • It’s time to purchase your campus parking permit for fall term. Summer term permit holders can renew starting Monday, August 14. Spring and summer term permit holders can swap zones starting Monday, August 21. New permits go on sale Monday, August 28.
