Who are the only brother and sister evening local TV news co-anchors in the U.S.? If you guessed Maureen and Terry McFadden, you're right. They anchor togehter at Gray Television's NBC affiliate/WNDU-TV (Channel 16, South Bend). Maureen McFadden announced that she will retire next Spring. It was October 1983, when Ms. McFadden joined the WNDU-TV anchor desk. Here is her on-air announcement.

Nexstar's CW affiliate/WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis) adds two meteorologists:
Ashley Brown becomes WISH-TV Chief Meteorologist. Her broadcasting career includes WLWT-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio, along with stops across town at WRTV (Channel 6, Indianapolis) and WXIN (Channel 59, Indianapolis).
Tara Hastings joins as weekend meteorologist from Nexstar's sister NBC affiliate/WDTN-TV in Dayton, Ohio. Ms. Hastings grew up in Hammond and graduated from Valparaiso, University.
Ms. Brown begins at "Storm Track 8" on Monday December 3, and will succeed Ken Brewer, who left WISH-TV in March.
Ms. Hastings will begin on Saturday December 8.
WFYI Public Media welcomes Dave Rosenthal as their new Side Effects Public Media Managing Editor. Side Effects is a WFYI-lead health news initiative. Mr. Rosenthal last worked in Buffalo, New York, as Senior Director of News and Public Affairs for WBFO/WNED and Managing Editor for Great Lakes Today, a public broadcasting collaboration.
"The Smiley Morning Show" at Entercom's CHR/WZPL (99.5fm, Greenfield) welcomes Assistant Producer Cole Dunbar. Mr. Dunbar last worked at Production Manager at Vincennes University's Hot AC/WVUB (91.1fm, Vincennes).

Former Terre Haute broadcaster "Bouncin' " Bob Rouse died last Thursday, at age 77. While we don't have a complete biography, he worked at WBOW and WAAC (1300am, Terre Haute). At WAAC, he both programmed and served as News Director in the late 1960s and early 1970s. By the late 1970s, Mr. Rouse owned what was then WVTS (100.7fm, Terre Haute) under the corporate name West Pines Broadcasting Corp. Visitation was yesterday near Dallas, Texas, with a celebration of life held this morning, also near Dallas, Texas. Here's the complete obituary.
Southwest
Last month, Jackie Brown exited as one of the meteorologists at Bayou City Broadcasting's CBS and FOX affiliates WEVV-TV (CBS on 44.1, FOX on 44.2). "44 News" sent her off with this video.
Ms. Brown recently joined Nexstar's WSPA-TV in the Greensboro, North Carolina/Spartanburg, South Carolina market as weekend meteorologist.

November 11: In 1949, Channel 10 in Bloomington signs on as WTTV-TV, for owner Sarkes Tarzian ("Tarzian TeleVision"). In 1954, it moved to Channel 4, and it's remains WTTV-TV (owned now by Tribune Broadcasting).
November 12: In 1969, WDHS (91.1fm, Gaston) at Wes-Del High School had their first broadast: A freshman basketball game, with school superintendent Paul Parker doing play by play.
November 13: In 1964, 89.7fm in Terre Haute signs on as WISU ("Indiana State University"), and still is. In 1973, 97.7fm in Brazil signs on as WWCM-FM ("Wide World of Country Music"). 97.7fm later moved to 92.7fm in the mid-2000s. Today, it's WFNB.
November 14: In 1960, 1550am in New Castle signs on as WCTW. Today, it's WLTI. In 2012, former WIKY/Evansville PD Mark Baker dies at age 57.
November 15: In 1984, 103.1fm then licensed to Versailles signs on as WOVR (Osgood Versailles Ripley. Osgood and Versailles both sit in Ripley County.) It's now licensed to Columbus on 102.9fm as WXCH.
November 16: In 1932, WCMA(AM) (1400am, Culver) signs off.
November 17: In 1958, 91.7fm in South Bend signs on as WETL ("We Educate Tomorrow's Leaders"), and still is. In 1987, Sarkes Tarzian dies. Age 87.
