Our CATCH Community
Meet Heather Hansen
“Addiction is a brain disease. This has the potential for lifelong changes to the brain. Prevention through education is so much easier than trying to treat an addiction. This experimentation with vape devices is not something our kids need to go through. We can prevent it through programs like CATCH My Breath.”
In the heart of Idaho, a powerful movement is taking shape, driven by a collective determination to safeguard the health and well-being of the state's youth. Healthcare professionals, passionate educators, concerned parents, and visionary community leaders have come together and among these exceptional individuals stands Heather Hansen, Health Education Specialist Senior for Eastern Idaho Public Health District. Dive into Heather's journey and the transformative initiatives that are helping to create a healthier Idaho.

Attention New York City Educators!
Thanks to funding from the New York Health Foundation, CATCH My Breath is excited to announce a multi-year partnership with New York City Public Schools and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to provide free vaping prevention training and resources to public school teachers across the city beginning this fall. Additionally, the partnership will include youth empowerment initiatives via a citywide public service announcement contest.
Educators have shared that children as young as kindergarten have been caught with e-cigarettes. These unfortunate scenarios magnify the impact that the vaping epidemic has on youth of all ages. To address this important issue, we have joined forces with our friends and partners at DentaQuest. Through their generous sponsorship, we are happy to announce that we have developed educational materials for parents and caregivers with children in grades K-4. Our free materials include a short informational video, fact sheet and parent-child activity, which can be shared digitally or printed as handouts. We thank DentaQuest for their continued partnership and commitment to keeping youth and families safe, healthy, and connected.
