Let us migrate data from Sakai to Canvas for you
|
Starting Spring 2024, all Duke* and DKU instructors can teach their courses on Canvas. If you previously taught a course on Sakai that you will be teaching again in Spring 2024, you may request course content be migrated from Sakai to Canvas for you.
|
We encourage you to request any content you would like migrated for Spring 2024 as soon as possible (excepting Fall 2023 site content - we suggest you wait until the term has ended to have those migrated). Please submit your requests by December 20 to ensure your content will be migrated and ready for you to review by the first day of classes (January 10).

*Divinity and select School of Nursing instructors are transitioning to Canvas on different timelines than the rest of the university; information about those timelines has been shared by local support teams.

Canvas Team Available To Join Meetings |
Shai Ginsburg, Associate Professor in the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, invited the Canvas project team to join a recent departmental meeting. The team gave a short presentation and reserved the remaining time for discussion. “It was a lively discussion that lasted about 45 minutes. There were a lot of questions and comments, both from faculty who have already adopted Canvas and those who are yet to adopt it. [The Canvas team members] answered the questions straightforwardly. It was a very good use of time.”
If you have a department or similar large group meeting coming up and would like someone to come speak and answer questions about Canvas, contact us at canvas@duke.edu and we would be happy to arrange for a member of the transition team to attend.
