Georgia Tech ROTC Dedicates New Fitness Facility |
President Ángel Cabrera joined representatives of the ROTC and other members of the campus community on Nov. 8 to dedicate a new fitness facility for cadets and midshipmen. The Lt. Tyler Brown Fitness Facility is part of efforts to provide future military leaders with the facilities they need to prepare them for the military’s unique physical demands.

"Sometimes at DramaTech we say that we 'engineer theater,'" said artistic director Melissa Foulger. "Yes, we can engineer things — but if there's no humanity and heart in it, we're losing something very basic about theater." DramaTech's current production, She Kills Monsters, runs through Saturday, Nov. 23.

Yeqing Kong (Literature, Media, and Communication) gave a talk titled "Building a Skill Taxonomy for Doctoral Graduates in Technical and Professional Communication: A Corpus-Assisted Study of Academic Job Market" at the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication conference. Kong also presented on "Enhancing Scientific Communication Through Generative AI: Tools, Practices, and Potential" at the ACM Conference of the Special Interest Group on Design of Communication.

Lelia Glass (Modern Languages) presented a talk titled "Social Meanings of the Low-Back Merger Shift Among Young Asian Americans in Georgia" at the sociolinguistics conference "New Ways of Analyzing Variation." Her presentation discussed the accents of Asian Americans in her dataset of audio recordings of over 250 Georgia Tech students who grew up in Georgia.

Ph.D. student Sanghyun Han (International Affairs) attended "Critical & Emerging Technology Cooperation in the U.S.-Korea Alliance," hosted by the Korea Economic Institute of America and the University of Texas at Austin's Clements-Strauss Asia Policy Program. Han presented “Canvasing Variations in U.S.-South Korea Cooperation on AI and Quantum Technology," which has been accepted by Korea Policy for publication.
