Bowen honors Flannery, Sullivan, and Silverstein for faculty excellence
UA Little Rock annually celebrates the achievements of the top professors of the year who are making a difference in the community through their contributions in teaching, research and creative works, and public service.
The William H. Bowen School of Law's Faculty Excellence Award winners for 2021 are:
- Professor Michael Flannery - for Teaching
- Distinguished Professor J. Thomas Sullivan - for Research/Creative Endeavors
- Professor Josh Silverstein - for Public Service

Associate Dean Terry is the lead author of Assessment of Teaching and Learning: A Comprehensive Guidebook for Law Schools
Associate Dean Cain served as a bar association CLE panelist discussing Arkansas's "stand your ground" law.
Several Bowen professors have spoken before the Arkansas legislature this session. Professor Steinbuch has testified on challenges to FOIA and freedom of speech, and Professor cummings has testified on bail reform and constitutional amendments.
Bowen's faculty have been in the local media discussing local, state and national issues. They've covered proposed and new legislation, FOIA challenges, gun legislation, hate crimes, and Bowen's access to justice initiatives.
