Jesse J. Ergott to depart as president and CEO of NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania
Our president and chief executive officer of 16 years, Jesse J. Ergott, will be departing the organization to become the chief advancement officer at AllOne Foundation and Charities. Ergott is committed to a seamless transition and will continue to lead NeighborWorks through April 26, 2024.

Ergott’s tenure includes a period of significant organizational growth. He oversaw the expansion of NeighborWorks’ geographic footprint from one county to six in 2013, leading to a strategic rebranding from Neighborhood Housing Services of Lackawanna County to NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania. A staff of four employees when he began, the organization has grown to a team of twenty-one competent, enthusiastic and resolute professionals serving communities throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
In line with NeighborWorks' established succession and transition planning process, the board’s Executive Transition Committee is conducting an internal and external search to identify a successor.

Client Spotlight: Robert and Joann Burke

“Home is where she is. We paneled every room in this house. Every hallway. The ceiling. There's home sitting next to me right here. Wherever she is is my home.“ - Robert Burke, Resident in Scranton

Robert (86) and Joan (82) are lifelong Scranton residents and have lived in their home for over 56 years. As clients of our Aging in Place program, they have received several small home repair and critical safety modification services over the past few years. Volunteers pitched in during SafetyWorks Week for Seniors last year, tackling the deck repair on the side of their house. Additionally, they now enjoy a tub cut in their first-floor bathroom, along with a convenient handheld shower fixture and brackets. Other improvements include grab bars, installed railings, and a fresh bathroom outlet.

We wish Robert and Joan many more years of comfort, safety and dignity in their beautiful home!
