Keep Dogs Away From Wildlife |
Now that the golf course is officially closed for the season, responsible winter traffic is permitted. Residents should stay off greens and out of bunkers. It is also imperative that you keep your dogs leashed at all times and be sure pick up after your pet!
We have received feedback from RVR homeowners concerning dogs chasing our resident mule deer on the course. We implore homeowners to keep their pets away from the local wildlife and don’t forget — Carbondale’s leash laws apply in RVR.

Green Tip | Plastic Bag Ban |
At the beginning of last year, a 10-cent plastic bag fee went into effect in Colorado. On January 1st, 2024 the next phase of this law (https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/hb21-1162) banning plastic bags and Styrofoam containers goes into action. The ban prohibits grocery stores and retail shops from using plastic bags and instead they must move to recyclable paper bags. The goal is to discourage people from taking the single-use bag and instead bring their own reusable bag. Restaurants must likewise eliminate the use of Styrofoam containers. Stores and restaurants can use up their existing supply of plastic bags and Styrofoam containers until June 1st, then they must abide by the new rule. There are a few exceptions. Stores with less than three locations that only operate in Colorado are exempt from the law. The fees and bans also don’t apply to certain types of single-use bags, like pharmacy bags or the plastic bags provided in the fruit and vegetable section of stores.

Following the Board’s unanimous approval of the budget at the November 2023 Board Meeting, homeowners had the next step of voting on the budget. Of the 157 homeowners who voted on the budget ratification, 127 were in favor of the budget, while 30 opposed it. That means the budget went into effect on January 1, 2024.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to weigh in on the issue.
