SRWC Turns Five This Year! |
Have you heard the news? Stanford Redwood City is preparing to celebrate it's fifth anniversary this year. And to make it extra special, the Campus Services team has a bunch of activities planned from March-August 2024 so that we can join together as a community and be a part of this occasion. Here is a list of events that have been scheduled as a part of our anniversary celebrations. Watch for details on the event calendar and digital displays.

New Campus Emergency Guide |
An updated Campus Emergency Information Guide with emergency procedures, contact resources, building directory, and a campus map is now available on the SRWC website. In the event of an emergency at Stanford Redwood City (SRWC), the SRWC Operations team will distribute information as needed to the campus community via AlertSRWC, the new SRWC Alerts & Notices webpage, and/or reminders posted to the SRWC Ops Announcements Slack channel (#srwc-ops-announcements).

In the event of limited communication capacity, the SRWC emergency information hotline (650-497-1111), KZSU 90.1 FM and/or the Stanford University emergency website may be activated to disseminate emergency information.

Automated Shades:
Please do not attach clips, post-its or other items to the shades in your area or leave plants on the window sill. If you notice anything, please remove them for smooth functioning of the shades.

| Bike Rooms:
If you're commuting on a bike to the campus, make sure you know the right way to lock your bike to the stands outside each building. There are also secure bike rooms near the entrance to the Recreation and Wellness Center and across the street from Pine Cone Children's Center.

Space heaters are not allowed on campus:
Space heaters are not permitted in the buildings. As noted by the University EH&S Department and Office of Sustainability, such heating units can use considerable energy, cause breakers to trip and are dangerous when unattended.

Irish Dance Performance
Celebrate Irish-American Heritage Month and mark St. Patrick's Day at Stanford Square (in front of Cardinal Hall) with a performance by the Greene Academy of Irish Dance!

Member Appreciation Day
Join the Recreation and Wellness Center for Member Appreciation Day. Come scan in at the front desk and grab snacks and refreshment!

| Paella Cooking Demo
Join Executive Chefs William Montagne and Terry Braggs as they cook delicious paella along with Spanish tapas, including braised octopus, chorizo, shrimp skewers, and more.
When: March 20, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Spirit Week Celebrations
Stanford's Spring Break is March 25 - March 29, so SRWC Campus Services invites you to be creative and a little silly for Spirit Week! The best thing about it is you can participate from anywhere. Dress up each day according to the theme of the day by submitting your photos for a chance to win a daily prize ($20 Amazon card), and the grand prize ($50 Amazon card).

Digital Accessibility Courses
|
Are you a beginner in digital accessibility or a seasoned developer unsure how to create an accessible website, mobile app, or web-based application? The Office of Digital Accessibility has training modules and courses on several topics around digital accessibility for all levels and roles.

Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability has opened submissions for its photo contest to all Stanford students, postdocs, faculty, staff, and alumni. Contest entries showcase research in the lab, action on campus, environmental challenges, and beauty in nature. Share your photos by Friday, March 22.
