Dear friends,

Santa letters are in the house and they are beautiful! I always forget how much fun they are to read until they come around again and we have started distribution.

Judging from the number of orders we have already, I fear we may end up with more orders than letters, so it’s really important for you to order them now. Priority will be given to those who give donations with their orders as well as our long time donors who we know we can count on to support us. We ask for five dollars per letter as this is the only way we can cover expenses. You can either make a donation via Zelle using our phone number, 312-296-5311 or send us a check to Direct Effect Charities, 4044 N Lincoln Ave, #400, Chicago, IL 60618. If you are sending a check, please let us know when you place your order so we know we can count on it. We will be mailing orders throughout the month of November or until we run out.

On a personal note, I’d like to ask you to pray for me. I’ve been in the hospital for awhile and they had first thought I needed another spinal fusion surgery as a result of increased weakness. After preparing for three days and getting extensive testing, I was told they could not find any compression on my spine and they put me in the hands of the neurology team. Further testing would determine that I had a “small“ stroke and this is what’s causing the additional weakness in my body. I am getting further testing and will likely go directly to a physical rehab from the hospital. I’ve needed to go there anyway so I am considering the stroke God’s way of getting me there. It’s always good to look on the bright side.

Please don’t worry about your Santa Letters because I am on top of that. All of our current orders are logged and my wonderful Santa partner Michelle Grunfeld is handling all the mailing and transportation of letters. We started early this year so we are way ahead of the game with many schools in and a few still set to arrive. Please email me if you have any questions as my phone availability isn’t great with all the doctors and testing so I am not always available.

I’m looking forward to another successful year and many more as well. I appreciate your support and I am excited once again to make so many children happy. It’s what we do best and I know that I couldn’t do it without you!
