Congratulations to the Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Class of 2025!
Each year, the Nashville Academy of Medicine presents two prestigious awards to honor exceptional graduating medical students:
The Dr. Dorothy Lavinia Brown Award recognizes outstanding medical leadership, education, and civic involvement. The 2025 recipient, Sachin Sanam, has demonstrated exemplary character and leadership, with a strong commitment to service and community advocacy. The award was presented by Dr. Carl Willis, NAM’s Board Chair, at Meharry’s Honors and Awards Ceremony.
The Dr. Tom Nesbitt Award acknowledges achievement in education, socio-economic, and legislative affairs. The 2025 recipient, Neha Aggarwal, has shown exceptional dedication to both NAM and Vanderbilt, holding leadership roles and contributing meaningfully to the medical community. The award was presented by Dr. Jonathan C. Nesbitt, son of Dr. Tom Nesbitt, MD, at Vanderbilt Class Day.
Both awardees exemplify the Nashville Academy of Medicine's values and our shared commitment to supporting the next generation of physician leaders.
