Ambassadors welcomed new member Happy Tails Pet Store; 6750 West Frontage Road Suite 434, in Medford. Happy Tails is a full-line pet store carrying live small animals, fresh and saltwater fish, birds, reptiles, invertebrates as well as a full-line of pet supplies. Barry Benjamin is the owner, stop out and see them!

Camping World Growing Across U.S.

Ambassadors visit with Camping World RV & Outdoors; 3627 North County Road 45, in Owatonna, to welcome them as a new member under new ownership. Casy Chung is the General Manager. Camping World is your go to for RV and RV gear needs. You’ll find Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Toyhaulers, Pop Ups, Ice Houses and more! Camping World also features a Parts and Service Center and Accessory Store.
Their purchase of the Noble RV locations is part of a nationwide expansion plan to be in 48 states.

GEM Days This Week


Formerly Crazy Days, GEM Days highlights all the great hidden treasurers of Owatonna.  The event is put on by the Owatonna Business Partnership, a full week is planned of events, sidewalk sales and food.  For a full schedule of Events.

Seykora Joins The Chamber Team

Congratulations and welcome to Julia Seykora the new Events Director at OACCT.  Julia will be handling all the programming events, monthly networking events and Signature events.  
Julia brings seven years plus of event planning experience and will begin her career at the chamber on Monday, August 9th.

Zak to Leave Workforce Position

After 4 years of starting up and running the SteeleCoWorks Workforce Coordinator position, Anisha Zak will be leaving the program on August 23rd.  Anisha has accepted a position with Lead for Minnesota.  
During her time as Workforce Coordinator, Anisha created connections with over 100 businesses, hundreds of students in 5 Steele County high schools and leaves the program in a position for a successful future.  Thank you Anisha and Good Luck!

Workforce Center Reopen Plan

At a meeting today with Workforce Development Inc (WDI), business and partners discussed the needs for the Owatonna Workforce Center.  The need for a visible location was also discussed.  WDI will move quick to identify an office location and to start hiring for services here.  
Services will include: Dislocated Worker, Bridges to Careers, Welfare Reform and Youth Services.  The Chamber looks forward to working with WDI on moving this forward.  Thanks again to Rep. Petersburg and Sen. Jasinski for securing funding for this reopen project.

Mayor Tom Kuntz commemorates the opening of the We All Play inclusive playground.

Privately Funded We All Play Opens for Community

The Chamber Foundation was a proud fiscal agent for the We All Play inclusive playground project.  At a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday night, city leaders spoke about the importance of inclusion and the long road to building the playground and ball field. 
Organizers are still working to raise the last $18,000.  Special Thank you to Rhonda Guthier, Operations Director at the Chamber for her work in administering this project for the Foundation.

Investment Downtown Takes Shape


After decades with a white facade, the former Jerry's restaurant is being stripped of that exterior in preparation for a complete remodel for a new restaurant.  




Sidewalks and access to your favorite business remain open downtown.  Maps and other details can be found on line.  

Groups Resuming Visits to Owatonna


Twenty-five (25) people from the Albert Lea Classic Car Cruisers group came to the Orphanage Museum for a tour and really enjoyed their visit.  In addition, they also stopped stayed in town for lunch.
