Data doesn’t tell you everything. In order to drive change, you have to understand the community’s perspective about the data and involve those you intend to serve.
The Data Center has known this for years. In fact, before Katrina, we began gathering community perspectives on our data and embedding it alongside the data points right on our web site.
Now, more than a decade later, we are thrilled that students from the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts have chosen to illustrate what The New Orleans Youth Index means to them.
