Many have heard the African Proverb "It takes a village to raise a child." Across Portland State University, researchers, students, and organizers are part of that village for many of Oregon's most vulnerable (and resilient!) children and families. In this issue of the PSU Partners Newsletter, you'll learn about five inspiring partnerships with early childhood providers across our region. While each of these partnerships tells a distinct story, across all partnerships you'll hear core PSU values, such as attention to equity and respect for the expertise parents and children bring to the table. Each of these programs shows that PSU values being a partner in wider collaboratives of education, family, neighborhood, and community leaders. "Let knowledge serve" is another way of saying we are part of the village, not separate. We work in partnership with families and community leaders, to raise healthy children.
