Recommended Read
The House of Broken Angels by Luis Alberto Urrea

“This excellent novel, about a dying Mexican immigrant who throws one last blow-out party to celebrate both his birthday and his life, proves that happy families can be as interesting as unhappy ones. It's also a solid choice for those looking to add a little diversity to their reading. The cast of characters includes men and women, old, young, and middle-aged, drawing from patriarch Big Angel's large, extended Mexican-American family of undocumented immigrants and U.S. citizens alike. The story covers their struggles, romances, failures, and triumphs over the course of decades, culminating in Big Angel's eventful party. Reading this book will entertain--and dispel any doubts about the common humanity beneath our differences.” --Terzah, Collection Development

"Today I tried to pay my $0.80 in fines at Boulder Library and was told that they stopped doing fines in March! I love this library so much, but I'm even more proud of it today that fines won't be an obstacle for users." - Chealsye Bowley
