Hello, Gaucho parents & families!

As we come to the end of the academic year, we congratulate the Class of 2023 and look forward to welcoming continuing students back to campus next fall. This month's newsletter includes reminders about move-out and Commencement, information on the annual GIVE Sale, reflections from UCSB student athletes, and more.

Reminders & Announcements

Plan ahead for move-out and review important information on UC Santa Barbara’s Campus Housing website. Encourage your student to reduce waste and donate to GIVE! Donation drop-off sites will be available on campus and in Isla Vista from June 12 to June 23.
The GIVE Sale is an annual tradition in Isla Vista and offers students an opportunity to donate excess belongings while giving back to the community.

Since 1990, GIVE has accepted donations of unwanted and reusable clothing, books, furniture, household furnishings, kitchenware, canned and packaged foods, and miscellaneous items during Isla Vista and UCSB’s annual move-out time in June. The donations are sold at a giant sale and the proceeds benefit organizations and projects that improve the quality of life in Isla Vista. Learn more about the GIVE Sale and find donation locations.
Congratulations to the Class of 2023! As the UC Santa Barbara community prepares for our annual Commencement ceremonies, Saturday & Sunday, June 17 & 18, we encourage graduation candidates, family and friends, to review the important information and resources on our website.

All ceremonies will be presented via YouTube livestream on the Commencement website. Please check the website during Commencement Week for the link.
Please encourage your student to check their UCSB email. We hope our students enjoy their summer, wherever they may go. Continuing students are encouraged to check their UCSB email inbox periodically. University updates may be delivered via email and we don’t want anyone to miss out on helpful information.

Please note: When driving to campus, traffic may be impacted by Highway 217 construction. Please consider using alternate routes and allow extra time.

Spring Quarter Final Exams: June 10-16
Commencement: June 16-18
UCSB Residence Halls Close: June 17 at 10:00am
UCSB Apartments Close: June 19 at 12:00pm
Juneteenth (campus holiday): June 19
Summer Quarter Instruction Begins: June 26
