Coronavirus update: Spring Continuing Education classes canceled

March 12, 2020
In response to ongoing concern about the coronavirus, and upon recommendations from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine to all colleges statewide, the Cleveland Institute of Art is canceling remaining Continuing Education classes and public programming effective Monday, March 16 in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
It is important to note that no cases of the virus have been identified at CIA, but the health and safety of our community is of utmost importance. We will issue a prorated refund for the spring Continuing Education classes that have been canceled. Refunds will be issued by the same method used for payment. You should receive your refund not later than Friday, April 3.
As we wrap up remaining continuing education classes through Saturday, March 14, we ask that students take deliberate care to observe recommended hygiene practices and seek medical advice if they develop symptoms of concern.
The CIA instructional building will remain open until 10pm Tuesday, March 17 for students who need to pick up any work in progress remaining in the studios. Please contact the Office of Continuing Education at ce@cia.edu or 216.421.7460 to coordinate a time to retrieve your work. Beginning Wednesday, March 18, Continuing Education students will not be admitted to CIA’s academic facilities until further notice.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We believe that decisive action now can help minimize the spread of the illness, and we look forward to returning to regular operations as soon as we can do so.
