Iona University’s roots are steeped in the rich Irish legacy of St. Columba, Blessed Edmund Rice and the Christian Brothers, who founded Iona in 1940. Building upon this heritage, Iona launched its new global campus in County Mayo, Ireland, earlier this year and is proud to share courses for the upcoming 2025 Westport Summer Session.
From May 10-23, 2025, students will once again have a chance to live and learn in Westport, with classes taking place on the historic 400-acre Westport House Estate. Iona students are encouraged to learn more and apply today.
Applications close December 1.

All service-learning courses require three components: academic content, a community-based service project and a creative reflection on the experience that evokes deep critical thinking. Did you know that Iona University also has a program for cocurricular service-learning and that cocurricular service-learning can take many forms?
Cocurricular service-learning proudly partners with the Office of Mission & Ministry to provide recognition for students who attend Iona in Mission trips, as well as for students who regularly participate in semester-long service projects coordinated by a student campus minister here at Iona.
If you are the moderator of a club, society, organization, etc., at Iona University, that wants to incorporate community service into your activities, then cocurricular service-learning is for you.
For the Fall 2024 semester, Dr. Hannah Park committed to a cocurricular service-learning project for students in the Dance Ensemble and Dr. Nancy-Vidal Finnerty committed to one for the Culturally Linguistically Diverse Society. Students who want to learn more can contact Bro. Kevin Griffith at kgriffith@iona.edu for information.
