December's Communion Offering supports God's Promise in Haiti:

Follow our daily Facebook Devotions to get the most out of this Advent season.  We will post a verse to read and and idea to ponder, along with an idea for action. This year, let's learn together how to wait - not passively, but actively preparing for the coming of God in our midst!
The beautiful tree in our worship center was chosen by one of our 2017 confirmands, Graeme Burkes!  He and his mentor, Jan Brister, did a great job picking out the perfect tree. 
We can thank our Youth Group for coming together to decorate the tree with our Chrismon ornaments - click here to view some pictures from that fun evening.
Each time you enter our sanctuary, let the tree remind you to pray for this year's confirmands, their mentors, and our youth; all of these groups mean so much to us here at PHUMC, and we are grateful for the many gifts and talents they bring to our table and willingly share with our church family during Advent and always!
December's calendar is filled with wonderful opportunities - be sure to mark these dates:
December 4th at the 10:45 service
The Jubilation Ringers will provide our prelude, K-3rd graders will sing and our 4th and 5th graders will ring and lead a prayer during worship.  What a gift!
December 4th at 3:00 pm
Happy Birthday Jesus Party
This is for all children through 5th grade. Come - in your pajamas! - for games, crafts, the Christmas story, cupcakes and a hot chocolate bar. 
December 4th at 5:00 pm
Special Advent Fair and Activities will take the place of both our regular Youth Group and Church in the Round, everyone is invited to join us!
December 11th at both the 8:30 and 10:45 services
PHUMC's adult choir will present "Celebrate", the Christmas message in song. This is always a powerful service - invite friends!
December 11th at 3:00 pm 
All women are invited to join us in the Bridges classroom for the Women's Ministry Christmas Party and Ornament Exchange.  Bring a wrapped ornament to exchange, and a favorite dish to share. Bring a copy of the recipe you prepare and we will compile a small cookbook for everyone to take home!  Contact Kari Miller with questions: 601-421-3682.
December 18th at 5:00 pm
Blue Christmas
 A service sensitive to the needs of those whose hearts are heavy at this time of year. Invite anyone you think would receive comfort and hope from this program, and join us to surround them with compassion and support.
December 24th at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
Join us for carols, communion, and of course, candles!  This special time is always one of the highlights of our church year.  Nursery provided.
December 25th at 10:00 am
We will have ONE SERVICE ONLY on Christmas Day. There will be no Sunday School or nursery on Christmas Day. (There will also be only one service on New Year's Day, January 1st. Our regular worship schedule will resume on January 8th.)
December's Communion Offering will help build a house through God's Promise in Haiti.
